Music, Art and Joy in South Sudan

The team from Canadian Aid for South Sudan has just returned from their annual trip to the village of Gordhim.  For the children in the area, the arrival of the Canadians means playtime! Over 350 children turn up every day, some walking many kilometers each morning to take part in the annual art and music camp. Two Girls and an Elephant is proud to have played a  part in helping to fund this years camp with our Music, Art and Africa event that took place in London, Ontario in October of last year. A special thank you to Lynn Davis who worked her magic to create that wonderful evening – we couldn’t have done it without you!

This was the ninth trip to Sudan for singer Denise Pelley and artist Lucy Ogletree who bring the camp to life each year.

”  It is now my second home”, said Pelley. ” I cherish the time I get to spend with the people I have met over the years, as well as with the hundreds of children who daily attend the music and art camp.  I am truly blessed.”
